Act 210 Consumer Advocacy Grant
In April 2024, Gov. Tony Evers signed 2023 Wis. Act 210 (Act 210) into law. This legislation allows property owners to voluntarily record a statutory form if they face a discriminatory deed restriction or subdivision covenant on their land record. Following the passage of Act 210, the WRA and 17 local REALTOR® associations in Wisconsin received a $75,000 grant in May 2024 for an awareness campaign about the new law. This campaign, aimed at the public, encourages individuals to engage with their local REALTOR® to learn more about the legislation. The statewide campaign will utilize radio, mail and digital programs.
The statutory form will be available from the Wisconsin Department of Administration in August 2024, with a $30 recording fee for homeowners who wish to use the form.
To support this effort, the Wisconsin REALTORS® Foundation (WRF) will cover the $30 document recording fee for homeowners when they connect with a REALTOR® in their community.
