Grassroots Politics
by Michael Theo and Joe Murray
As you know, the WRA has formally endorsed Scott McCallum for Governor. To support
this endorsement, we are in the midst of a significant grassroots effort to educate and
mobilize our members to support Governor McCallum.
An essential part of this grassroots effort is the deployment of our local Governmental
Affairs Directors (GADs) across the state. We have asked our GADs to meet with as
many brokers and members as possible between now and the election to help
educate and integrate our members into the McCallum election effort. The GADs are working
closely with the McCallum campaign and the WRA staff on this project.
The GADs have been assigned territories that cover the entire state, so many of their
contacts for this effort will be in areas beyond their usual board jurisdictions. The
GADs will be contacting EO's in these areas to discuss their activities.
But for this effort to work, we need your help. We need your active support at all levels - from getting the word out to
members regarding our support for McCallum, to helping the GADs in obtaining yard sign locations, distributing bumper
stickers as well as other campaign materials and literature. We ask that you take an active and personal
role in working with our GADs and WRA staff in helping in this important grassroots effort.

ZipForm--Anytime, Anywhere
by Kristi Mikalsen
If you are not already connected to the Internet, now's the time to get connected! ZipForm Online is the latest product
offered free of charge to association members by RE FormsNet and the WRA. It combines the familiar program features of the
desktop version with the power of the Internet. Built with mobility and flexibility in mind,
ZipForm Online provides brokers and agents with secure, Web-based access to
association forms anytime, anywhere.
There's no need to cart disks back and forth any more, lose an important form because
your disk has been damaged or mistakenly work with the wrong version of an
in-process contract. With ZipForm Online, you use your laptop, or any
computer with an Internet connection, to access your up-to-date forms and close the deal. The program
and form library reside on a Web server instead of your PC or network server, virtually
eliminating maintenance issues.
Using ZipForm Online is easy: simply connect to the Internet, log in to ZipForm Online
found on the WRA's Web site* , choose the appropriate form and input
the necessary information.
That's it! You will now be allowed to easily store and edit both in-process transactions
as well as create new ones. ZipForm Online is also fully compatible with the desktop
version, which means that forms can be shared seamlessly between the two products.
For detailed instructions on accessing ZipForm Online visit the WRA Web site
www.wra.org. Frequently asked questions are addressed on the Web site as well.
- Initially you will need to download and install a viewer. This install is about 8 MB. With broadband this
download should only take a few minutes, and with a 56K modem it should take less than 30 minutes.

Supreme Court Rejects Comm 83 Appeal
The Wisconsin Supreme Court recently denied an appeal challenging the state's new private septic system regulations,
Comm 83.
The appeal was filed by various environmental organizations and municipal groups
after both the court of appeals and trial court concluded that the regulations were
properly drafted and did not violate state or federal groundwater laws. Because
the challenges to Comm. 83 have failed at each level of our state court system, the judicial
proceedings are now complete.

or Deb Conrad.
