Launched in 2006, the RSPS Certification was created by the National Association of REALTORS® to better serve the growing second-home and resort real estate market and now has over 700 elite members. RSPS is recognized as an official NAR certification and allows buyers and sellers to have confidence in the ability of a REALTOR® who specializes in resort and second-homes to assist them with their search. Show buyers, sellers and your peers that you are dedicated to continuing education in lifestyle real estate by working towards obtaining your RSPS Certification. RSPS Education Requirements

 

Show buyers, sellers and your peers that you are dedicated to continuing education in lifestyle real estate by working towards obtaining your Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS) Certification. To achieve the RSPS Certification, Applicants must be a member in good standing with the National Association of REALTORS® and complete the education requirements. The required core course for this certification is NAR's Resort & Second Home Markets Course. In addition, you may choose between two elective paths, either Option 1 or Option 2.
 

Part 1: Required Core Course

NAR Resort & Second Home Markets Course – Find a course location near you or take the course online. Take a moment and review the course outline.

Part 2: Elective Path - Choose either Option 1 or Option 2

Option 1: Elective Courses: A total of two elective courses are needed. Choose from the following.

  • Any CIPS courses (Each course satisfies one elective; completion of two courses fulfills Option 1)
  • Attendance at an NAR Resort Symposium(Attendance at one Symposiums counts as one elective; attendance at 2 Symposiums fulfills Option 1)
  • CCIM Introduction to Commercial Investment Real Estate Analysis - 2 Day or Home Study CD-ROM
  • CRB Generational Marketing - Home Study CD Only - (course no longer offered)
  • CRS 204 Creating Wealth Through Residential Real Estate Investments – 2 Days
    e-Pro Certification
  • IREM 101 Introduction to Managing Residential Properties (course is no longer offered)
  • IREM 102 Introduction to Managing Small Business Properties (course is no longer offered)
  • IREM-01 Introduction to Real Estate Management - Online
  • NAR’s GREEN Designation Core Course
  • REBAC e-Buyer Course – 1 Day or Online
  • RLI Tax-Deferred (1031) Exchange Course – 2 Days or Online (Review the course objectives and outline here.)
  • Short Sales and Foreclosures: What Buyer’s Representatives Need to Know – 1 Day
  • SRES Senior Real Estate Specialist Course
  • WCR Networking and Referral Systems Course - 1 Day

Option 2: Designations: Hold one of the following designations:

  • Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR®) Designation
  • Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) Designation
  • Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM)
  • Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS)
  • Certified Property Manager® (CPM®)
  • Certified Residential Specialist (CRS)]
  • Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB)]
  • NAR's Green Designation (GREEN)
